Chathura Ranasinghe (born 1994) is a Sri Lankan sports journalist, sports manager, and entrepreneur based in Australia. He has worked for several leading media outlets and has covered major sporting events, including the South Asian Junior Athletics Championship.

Early Life and Education

Chathura Ranasinghe was born in 1994 in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. He studied at St. Mary’s College, Veyangoda, before receiving a scholarship to Nalanda College, Colombo. Ranasinghe played cricket and later pursued American football with the Colombo Lions and Pakistan Wolfpak.

He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management at the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM) in 2016.

Career

Ranasinghe began his journalism career in 2016 with ThePapare.com, covering athletics, football, rugby, and cricket. In 2019, he joined Liberty Publishers Private Limited, writing for Sathi Aga Aruna, Daily Aruna, and The Sunday Morning. He has conducted over fifty interviews with athletes and covered significant sports events.

In 2019, he was part of the Liberty Publishers team that won the "Sabuddhi Sports Newspaper of the Year" award.
